STEVE WILSON PERFORMS AT CONCERT FOR QUEEN ELIZABETH!!! The Queen and His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, visited Virginia May 3rd and 4th to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Jamestown. Steve Wilson was one of several artists chosen from his home state of Virginia to perform as a special guest soloist for a concert for Queen Elizabeth's visit. Virginia's Royal Welcome paid tribute to the state's diverse musical heritage with live performances of authentic bluegrass, gospel, jazz and blues. Governor Timothy M. Kaine hosted Virginia's Royal Welcome at Capitol Square, a day of musical performances by Virginia artists in honor of the visit from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, II. This free, public event was held May 3rd to coincide with The Queen's visit to the State Capitol in Richmond; the music a mix of legendary performers and up and coming young artists. Virginia artists scheduled to perform with Wilson, include R&B artist Carlton Blount, jazz and R&B vocalist Jane Powell, and legendary bluegrass artist, Wayne Henderson.
